Indian Army organizes free tuition classes in Kashmir

The Indian army organizes free tuition to classes in Kashmir for the needy students students in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

"In a distinct initiative, army based at Baramulla established a meaningful connect with the youth of Baramulla by organising free tuition classes for needy students of Class X to XII at various schools of Baramulla district," a defence spokesman told IANS here.

Scholfin-An Indian scholarship search engine by subham agarwal

Subham agarwal, one of the students from VNIT recently found a search engine called as “scholfin” to find the scholarship and it accomplished the remarkable feat in the segment. ScholFin has been selected as the 1st Runner up in TiE International Startup Competition in Rice University Track and 2nd position in Asia. Apart from this, ScholFin has also been selected as top 25 most innovative startups by IIT DELHI. Previously ScholFin also stood up to become winner of Google Startup Weekend.

Robin Chaurasiya shortlisted for global prize for teachers

Robin Chaurasiya, an Indian teacher who runs a non-for-profit school in Mumbai for girls from the city’s red light areas named in the top 10 short-list for a global prize for teachers.

She is a founder of Kranti and she will compete with teachers from the UK, US, Nairobi, Palestine, Japan, Finland, Australia and Pakistan to win the $ 1-million Global Teacher Prize 2016.

New DU vice Chancellor- Yogesh Kumar Tyagi

The professor of South Asian University Yogesh Kumar Tyagi has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Delhi University.

Last week, the HRD ministry had forwarded the four names to the President who, as visitor of central universities, makes the final selection as Yogesh Kumar Tyagi.

New grading system in DU

Delhi University has introduced a new grading system as a part of the CBCS - Choice Based Credit System. 

The Students have to score over 100% marks to achieve top ‘O’ grade in some subjects under the relative grading system. 

The University's exam branch officials confirmed that this is just one of the many strange oddities that were noticed in the first semester Results.
